Legislative Updates
Congress released its 2020 draft calendar for the second session of the 116th Congress today, with the district work periods listed below (subject to change). NALC asks that letter carriers take a moment to note the dates legislators will be out of DC and likely back home. Senators and Representatives often hold town hall meetings (find out here at the Town Hall Project), campaign rallies, and other events during these breaks.
By using such holidays and breaks to our advantage, letter carriers will be able to meet their lawmakers in-person. Those are perfect opportunities to educate members of Congress on issues of importance to letter carriers.
