On Tuesday, the acting directors of the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of Personnel Management issued a memorandum to provide guidance regarding the hiring freeze instituted by President Donald Trump on Jan. 23. The guidance included the following:

“3. Exemptions. The following exemptions to the Federal civilian hiring freeze are permitted:

f.  Hiring by the U.S. Postal Service.”
