The U.S. Postal Service recently published its results for the month of April 2015 and its year-to-date results through April 2015. They can be found here.
The Postal Service continued to operate profitably in April, generating $99 million for the month before the impacts of retiree health benefits (RHB) pre-funding and workers’ compensation accounting adjustments.
As of the end of April, USPS’ year-to-date operating profit was $1.6 billion before RHB pre-funding and workers’ comp accounting. This operating profit is about $600 million ahead of the Postal Service’s 2015 plan, and $260 million more than its results at the same point last year.
USPS has five more months remaining in the 2015 fiscal year, which ends on Sept. 30.
