National conventions & rap sessions

Informational rap sessions on tentative agreement

Houston – October 27

The informational rap session will be held at 9 a.m. on Sunday, October 27 at the Hilton Americas – Houston located at 1600 Lamar Street.

NALC has reserved a block of rooms for the event. The room rate is $209 plus tax for single/double. Reservations can be made by going to https://book.passkey.com/go/NALC24RAP1 or by calling 800-236-2905 and identifying with group code 1KA. The cut-off date for making room reservations is Friday, October 25.

Continental breakfast will be provided prior to the rap session. Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. in the area outside of the Ballroom of Americas located on the 3rd floor of the hotel. The rap session will then be held in the Ballroom of Americas.


San Francisco – October 29

The informational rap session will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco located at 5 Embarcadero Center.

NALC has reserved a block of rooms for the event. The room rate is $299 plus tax for single/double, $324.00 plus tax for triple and $349 plus tax for quad. The cut-off date for making room reservations is Friday, October 25.

Continental breakfast will be provided prior to the rap session. Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. in Grand Ballroom B&C on the street level of the hotel. The rap session will be held in Grand Ballroom A. 


Minneapolis – October 31

The informational rap session will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 31 at the Hilton Minneapolis located at 1001 Marquette Avenue.

NALC has reserved a block of rooms for the event. The room rate is $189 plus tax for single/double, $209 plus tax for triple and $229 plus tax for quad. The cut-off date for making room reservations is Friday, October 25.

Continental breakfast will be provided prior to the rap session. Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. in the area outside of Salons DEF&G on the third level of the hotel. The rap session will be held in Salons DEF&G.

 
Washington, DC – November 2

The informational rap session will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 2 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill located at 400 New Jersey Avenue NW.

NALC has reserved a block of rooms for the event. The room rate is $295 plus tax for single/double, $320 plus tax for triple and $345 plus tax for quad. The cut-off date for making room reservations is Friday, October 25.

Continental breakfast will be provided prior to the rap session. Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. in the area outside of the Regency/Columbia Ballroom on the lower level (ballroom level) of the hotel. The rap session will be held in the Columbia C Ballroom.


Article 3 Section 1 of the NALC Constitution states:

The National Convention of this Union shall be held biennially in even-numbered years between the Fourth of July and third full week of August.

  • The 74th Convention in 2026 is Aug. 3-7 in Los Angeles
  • The 75th Convention in 2028 is July 31-Aug. 4 in Minneapolis
  • The 76th Convention in 2030 is Aug. 19-23 in Honolulu

 

Article 3 Section 4(b) of the NALC Constitution states:

(b). The National President shall, once each year except in the year of the National Convention, call a national conference. This conference shall be voluntarily attended by only State and Branch Presidents or their designees, with their expenses to be borne by the State Association or Branch represented.

National conferences are better known as “rap sessions.”
