Recent letter carrier deaths from COVID-19

NALC is deeply saddened to learn of two active letter carriers who recently died from COVID-19.

Steven Byrd died on Jan. 30, 2022. He was a member of Upper Marlboro, MD Branch 6545 and was a letter carrier for 35 years. Steven was an Army veteran. He is survived by his wife Cheryl and his three children Steven, Jordan and Tameka. He was 64.

Ronald Cantimbuhan died on Feb. 2, 2022. He was a letter carrier for 21 years and a member of San Jose, CA Branch 193. He was 46.

“NALC mourns the losses of Steven Byrd and Ronald Cantimbuhan,” NALC President Fredric Rolando said. “We send our deepest condolences to their families, friends and colleagues.”
